4th Annual Witch Hunt October 27, 2007  A Report from the 'Webwench' What a perfect evening for a ghoulishly good time at this year’s Annual Witch Hunt. This event is put on each year by Desert Thunder MC, Limey Riders MC, Sober Riders MC and the MMA Leather District. This year the groups opted to do way with the fun run and pick a later start time and have just a Halloween Party. This year the Haunted House was the best yet. Each group really got into putting up a great display and manned the booths for some addition scares. The later start time allowed this part to be better because it was cooler and almost dark giving some great effects and allowed people to be in the haunted house without falling out from the heat. This year’s winner of the scariest booth was the Sober Riders MC and it was well deserved. The bar of competition for next year has been raised to a whole new level. It was a little sick and wrong but totally an awesome display. The fun run was played this year as you walked through the haunted house. There was also an unexpected visit from Glendale's finest this year and they received calls of a huge biker party and women screaming as if they were being killed for over an hour. The police needed to come in and check to make sure the screaming women were ok. To do this they had to go into the haunted house. Now mind you, no one in the haunted house knew they were coming through so the scare was one. Women screaming and then abrupt silence, chainsaw sounding…then silence, another blood curdling scream and then silence. Soon the 2 officers emerged laughing and a grinning and told us what a total waste of time this call was and to have a great Halloween party. Little did we know there were 7 squad cars and gang task force around the corner waiting to raid…too funny. Glad they could have a little entertainment on their boring night. The haunted house ended at 7pm and the party was on. You could purchase a meal for $4, which included a burger or hotdog, choice of potato salad or macaroni salad, beans, a cookie and a soft drink. Now there is a great meal deal. A DJ was on hand to spin the music. The night included a few costume contests, bobbing for apples as the run off to the fun run and raffles for answering horror movie trivia. It was great to see so many come in costume. This years event had a few timing issues but all in all was a howling good time. The Limey Riders MC is in the middle of building a new clubhouse so there were some issues to overcome to even have the party. Next year with a completed new clubhouse this party should take on a new life. This year 130 people attended and we hope to see more next year. You can bet planning has already started for next years haunted house! This year the camera battery died in the middle of the event so the pics are what they are.
