1st Annual Roll'n the Dice Run
May 19, 2007

A Report
from the 'Webwench'

The start of summer is just a few days away and the season started with a bang! On Saturday the Lost Dutchman M/C Peoria put on their 1st Annual 'Roll'n the Dice Run'. The weather was great with a high in New River, AZ of 95 and a nice breeze. The Roadrunner Steakhouse was up for the party with misters going on the covered patio and plenty of staff eager to work the place.

The run started at 9am at Connoly's located at 51st Ave & Northern. On to the Long Horn out west and then a stop at Coyote Alley where Sun Valley Pkwy turns into Bell Rd. The third stop was held at Wild Horse West and on to the end stop, the Roadrunner in New River. There was one additional 'Ghost Stop' to give you a better chance if you could locate it. All in all the run was 97 miles of scenery avoiding the freeway including going into New River the back way up New River Road.

We got to the Roadrunner just as the bikes were starting to come in. There was a great turnout for the 1st Annual with 200 signing up and that doesn't include a bunch of people that went directly to the party to show their support.  The cost was reasonable like the good ole days with $10 per rider & $15 per couple. There was a $5 BBQ lunch or you could order from the menu and ride pins were included. There was a full bar and an additional beer bar was setup outside with no lines. Vendors were there with their goods and door prizes were posted. The 50/50 was held at 3:30 and brought in $--- and with last card in by 3:00, Glen Maldonado took the high hand with four Jacks and a 9 and won $---. Congratulations Glen!

Fool's Life played the party and man they do a great job! They are the best band ever for an event like this. Not only do they have a great list of tunes but they really get the crowd participating which is a lot of fun to watch. All four band members have tunes they sing and 'Jamin' Dan takes the mic and weaves through the crowd letting people sing a chorus or two while passing out beads to the ladies. Ride Sally Ride - you fools! Well done.

Everybody was having a good time but all were looking forward to the Wet T-shirt Contest that was being held at 4:00. The Lost Dutchman M/C just love to hold the Wet Tee Contests and they're so good at it. It must be the years of training they have, pouring pitchers of ice cold water down the fronts of the giggling female contestants. It's a sucky job but the guys do there best to get through it. This particular event rounded up $300 to the winner. Not a bad prize.

This event was well planned, well advertised and well manned. There were many clubs showing their support and enjoying the venue. Thanks to The Spartan Riders, Vietnam Vets, Sober Riders, Unidos, Rough Riders, Medieval Maidens, VIII's Society East Valley, American Freedom Riders, the Millennium Messengers and the Tribe of Judah M/M. A big thanks to everyone that came up to New River and partied with a great club. If you missed the fun this year we hope to see you in '08.
